Plan support around the exact vehicle

Special-purpose trucks combine a commercial chassis with working equipment that may come from several suppliers. A useful after-sales plan therefore names the chassis, pump or hydraulic components, controls and body equipment in the final build. Service intervals, consumables, warranty coverage and the route for obtaining parts should be confirmed in the contract for the selected vehicle.

Prepare the handover pack

• Operating instructions for the chassis and body equipment, including safety limits and daily checks.
• A preventive-maintenance schedule and an initial list of filters, seals, hoses and other likely consumables.
• Part numbers or clear component identification for pumps, valves, cylinders, refrigeration equipment or lifting gear as applicable.
• Warranty start date, coverage, exclusions, claim process and the information needed to report a fault.
• Contact and escalation route for technical questions, with response arrangements agreed for the destination country.

Build local service capability

Buyers in Nigeria and Ghana should identify a local workshop or technician for the chassis and a suitable specialist for the body equipment. Check access to commonly replaced parts and the tools required for routine work. For refrigerated, fuel-handling or lifting equipment, confirm which tasks must be performed by appropriately qualified personnel. Agree any operator training, remote guidance or on-site support explicitly before ordering; do not assume it is included.
